Ronald Koeman: This Everton 20-year-old needs to progress more
By Amir Mir
Ronald Koeman has urged Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin to “progress more” following his breakthrough season at the club.
The 20-year-old striker made his debut for the Merseyside outfit last December when he came on as a late substitute during his side’s 2-1 win against Arsenal on home soil.
After that match, he was then given more game time by his manager, with the highly-rated youngster rewarding the Dutchman with a goal on his first start for the club.
Calvert-Lewin started the home Premier League clash against Hull City in March and he opened the scoring during the 4-0 win.
Now, ahead of the forthcoming campaign, Koeman wants the Sheffield-born player to take another forward step in his career.

“He deserved to start matches last season and he is progressing well, but he needs to progress more because he is still only 20 years old,” Koeman told the club’s official website.
“He’s physically strong, which makes him a little bit different than the likes of [Tom] Davies and some of our other young players.
“He can play in different positions up front. He’s really improving in his movement and finishing, and that makes him a first-team player. But he’s a good boy who is serious and has a phenomenal attitude, which is what we like.”
Calvert-Lewin will be returning to pre-season in a positive mood after he helped his home country win the World Cup.
The England under-20s beat Venezuela 1-0 in Korea, with Calvin-Lewin scoring the winning goal in the final.
As a result, the Three Lions won their first major international trophy since the senior side won the 1966 World Cup.
Ahead of the forthcoming campaign, Everton will be looking to progress through to the group stages of the Europa League.
Their first Premier League match of the new 2017/18 season will be against Mark Hughes’ Stoke City at Goodison Park.
In the latest Everton news, the club are favourites to sign this 32-goal striker.
