Ross Wilson ‘shouldn’t be at Rangers’ after latest – ‘it’s there in black and white’, says expert

Sporting director Ross Wilson “should not be at Rangers”.

That’s according to former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Wilson’s tenure at Ibrox.

As quoted by the Daily Record (6 December), at the recent AGM, the Ibrox Board were asked by a disgruntled fan if they felt Wilson is the right person to be doing his job.

The fan also slammed the Gers sporting director and claimed the players that have been brought in under his watch have been a “disaster”.

Questions were also raised about the signing of defender John Souttar who played one game for the Light Blues before aggravating an injury which has kept him sidelined.

McAvennie insisted Wilson needs to be told about his mistakes.

You are always going to get one, but he has signed a few dodgy players,” he told Football Insider.

I do not know why you can’t seem to tell people when they are doing wrong. This guy has not done well. He could do a lot better.

I do not understand what all the fury is. He has made a few signings that have not been right. There is nothing wrong with being told what you have been doing is wrong, if you can’t take it then you should not be at Rangers.

It is the same as with the players, if you can tell them when they are not doing well you should be able to tell the one bringing in the players the same.

It is there in black and white that he is not doing well. If I was a fan I would not be happy with the signings.

In other news, a pundit has told Rangers to complete two £20m+ signings after Ibrox source’s reveal.
