Roy Keane labelled a ‘dinosaur’ after his Alexander-Arnold claim – fans react
England and Liverpool fans have ripped into Roy Keane after he once again trashed Trent Alexander-Arnold for his defensive skills.
The 26-year-old played out of position at left back as the Three Lions defeated Finland 3-1, but Keane wasn’t impressed with Alexander-Arnold’s previous performance against Greece.
The former Man United captain was speaking on ITV as he said, “If you saw him the other night defending, it looked like he’d never played right-back before.”
England were defeated 2-1 against Greece in a humiliating loss, marking the first time they had been beaten at Wembley Stadium since 2020.
However, Alexander-Arnold showcased his ability against Finland as he scored a stunning freekick as Lee Carsley’s team went on to win 3-1.
The Liverpool defender was also named the Player of the Match as he looked to silence his critics at international level.
Alexnder-Arnold had 130 touches throughout the game, winning all three of his duels while making four ball recoveries and two clearances.
England fans believe Roy Keane is stuck in the past with his defensive views
Supporters were quick to fire back at Keane’s comments, claiming that he’s a “dinosaur” and is “stuck in the old-school mindset.”
