‘Ruben Amorim develops plans for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo in Man United side’

Ruben Amorim is already developing ideas about how to deploy Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo in his Man United side next season.

The Ghanaian has enjoyed a breakout season with the Cherries this year, leading to a number of clubs eyeing up a deal for the 25-year-old this summer.

Semenyo is Newcastle’s top target this summer, Mick Brown told Football Insider exclusively, and Liverpool sent scouts to the Vitality Stadium to watch the former Bristol City man.

Despite interest from several of England’s best teams, United have jumped their way to the front of the queue, and are favourites to sign the Ghana international, Sky Sports reports.

According to the report, Amorim is thought to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old, who has scored eight Premier League goals this season, whilst also registering four assists.

Semenyo is a versatile player, capable of featuring on both wings, whilst also being adept upfront aswell.

Amorim reportedly already has ideas about how to deploy the Ghanaian in a “new-look” attack next season.

Although it is going to take a lot of manoeuvring for the Portuguese to get Semenyo in his side, given the Cherries are said to value him as highly as £70million.

Football Insider Verdict

Given Joshua Zirkzee is out long-term with an injury, and Rasmus Hojlund is seemingly incapable of finding the back of the net, United are expected to look to make changes up-front this summer.

Chido Obi is showing promise and will likely feature more both this season and next, but the Danish youngster is still only 17-years-old and is not yet ready to be the main man.

Whilst Semenyo would not be signed to be the Red Devils’ number nine, his versatility would allow Amorim the ability to be more tactically flexible.

The Portuguese manager likes to deploy a 3-4-2-1 system with the two attacking midfielders given the freedom to impact the match where they see fit, and Bournemouth’s star man enjoys floating around mid-game, looking for space to exploit.

Pairing him with a striker who thrives at dropping off and working in tandem with Semenyo, as Evanilson does at Bournemouth, should be a top priority if United sign the ex-Bath City winger.
