Ruben Amorim has just ‘thrown three Man United players under the bus’ in shock outburst

Ruben Amorim is being heavily criticised and questioned at Man United after his latest public outburst and throwing players under the buss.

Frustrations have risen again at Old Trafford after Man United drew 4-4 with Bournemouth, despite it looking at one stage that they would lose the game.

However, the performance on the pitch was not the main cause for concern, as Amorim‘s pre-match press conference saw him aim digs at some of the club’s young players.

That is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade and remains very well-connected there, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Amorim’s “bizarre” comments have led to new “question marks”.

Attempting to justify his early failings, the boss named Harry Amass, Toby Collyer and Chido Obi Martin, suggesting that their current clubs and form show why his side struggled.

Ruben Amorim under pressure after new Man United claims

Brown told Football Insider on 9 December that Amorim is still under pressure at Man United amid concerns about their recent inconsistent performances.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working alongside elite-level managers including Sir Alex Ferguson during United’s most successful period, has insisted the boss’ comments have raised new questions surrounding his position.

There are definitely a few question marks around Amorim,” he told Football Insider.

“I sometimes don’t know what road he’s trying to go down when he comes out with this stuff.

“Harry Amass has done very well at Sheffield Wednesday, in a struggling side. Chido Obi has suffered a bit of a loss of form here, but he’s not the only one. And Collyer, who went to West Brom, has struggled a bit, but he’s injured.

“So for the manager to name those three, seemingly as some sort of excuse for why he’s struggled, it just doesn’t wash, it was bizarre.

“He comes out with these statements which immediately make you wonder, why has he said that? It’s got nothing to do with Man United’s current position.

“Especially speaking about the younger players, two of which aren’t even at the club now, what could be the benefit of throwing them under the bus?

“It just raises new questions about the things he says and does in the press that aren’t what you expect of a Manchester United manager.”

Amorim facing new Man United test after Bryan Mbeumo blow

Brown told Football Insider on 14 December that Amorim has not eased the pressure at Man United and is now facing further difficulties in the coming weeks.

Dealing with the absence of Bryan Mbeumo will be the next big test as United will suffer heavy blows to their depth on the right-hand side.

Mbeumo will go to the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon, while Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui are set to represent Ivory Coast and Morocco respectively.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 29 November that AFCON is causing “massive” concerns for Amorim and there are fears about the impact of losing players.

Mbeumo has spearheaded Man United’s transformation, and his performances have been crucial to their recent success, so losing him will be a huge blow.
