Ruben Amorim involvement emerges as Man United star in line to leave
Man United and Christian Eriksen are expected to part ways at the end of the 2024-25 season, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Dane’s potential departure from Old Trafford comes as Ruben Amorim settles into his new managerial role.
The Portuguese coach, who replaced Erik ten Hag during the international break, took charge of his first training session on Monday (18 November) and is now preparing for his debut match against Ipswich Town this Sunday.
According to Romano the club will listen to the new manager’s opinion but Eriksen’s departure is still expected.
The midfielder joined United in 2022 on a free transfer from Brentford, signing a three-year contract.

Football Insider opinion
The 32-year-old has been a steady and experienced presence in midfield, adding creativity. However, his impact this season has been somewhat limited, with no goals or assists in his eight Premier League appearances, though he has contributed four goals and three assists in other competitions.
Amorim may look to part ways with Eriksen due to tactical reasons and the evolution of United’s squad.
Eriksen, while experienced, has shown limited impact in the Premier League this season, with his creativity not fully aligning with Amorim’s preference for a more dynamic and high-pressing midfield.
At 32 he has often played a deeper role, limiting his impact in the final third, and his ability to contribute with goals or assists has waned. The new boss might prioritise younger, more energetic players to fit his high-tempo style of play.
The Dane has less than a year left on his contract, and his potential departure could significantly free up space on the club’s wage bill.
This financial flexibility could allow United to focus on reinforcing other areas of the squad, particularly in positions where they may need more depth or quality.
Eriksen’s exit could also offer United the chance to refresh their midfield with a more athletic, box-to-box option, allowing the team to regain the energy and pace that has sometimes been missing in their performances.
This shift would not only align with Amorim’s high-tempo philosophy but also give the club an opportunity to invest in younger talent who can offer long-term value.
