‘Ruben Amorim is getting sacked tonight’ – Man United fans erupt at ‘disgraceful’ twist

Manchester United supporters have been left fuming with the Red Devils’ hierarchy and boss Ruben Amorim after Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

On 14 September, Man City thrashed Man United 3-0, with goals coming via a Phil Foden header and Erling Haaland’s brace.

The Old Trafford club have endured a poor start to the new Premier League season, with two defeats from their first four games.

Meanwhile, Man United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two outfit Grimsby Town, piling the pressure on Amorim.

The Red Devils bounced back from their penalty shootout loss at Grimsby with a 3-2 win over Burnley on 30 August.

However, respite from their victory over the Clarets did not last long, as Man United suffered a defeat to Man City in their first game after the international break.

Amorim’s men take on Chelsea in their next Premier League game on Saturday, 20 September, and will desperately want to avoid another top-flight defeat.

Following a largely successful start to the new season, Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford on Saturday, 13 September, and will be eager to bounce back with a win at Old Trafford.

Stars like Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer can cause problems for Man United and put the North West outfit in deeper trouble.

Meanwhile, Amorim’s summer signing Benjamin Sesko has struggled to adjust to the Premier League, inflicting further pressure on the 40-year-old.

Contrastingly, Rasmus Hojlund scored on his Napoli debut on 13 September, after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Man United fans call for Ruben Amorim to be sacked

The Red Devils’ defeat to fierce rivals Manchester City marked another poor chapter in Amorim’s tenure in charge of Man United.

One supporter said on X: “I don’t know what to say again. Man City were not particularly spectacular. Any decent team would beat them just like Tottenham and Brighton have shown.

Manchester United are not just good enough. There’s no other way to put it and it’s disgraceful.

Another fan added: “Ruben Amorim is losing the fans backing. This is not going to be good for him! Sack him!

Man United are next in action against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, 20th September.
