Ruben Amorim sacked: Every manager in running to be next Man United boss, including Jurgen Klopp
Oliver Glasner, Enzo Maresca and Laurent Blanc lead the way in terms of favourites to become Man United’s next permanent manager after Ruben Amorim’s departure on Monday morning.
Man United have sacked Amorim after 14 months in charge, following a breakdown in relationships between him and those behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
His position in charge had been constantly questioned over the last few months as his side struggled to string a run of consistent positive results together.
United drew 1-1 to bottom-of-the-table Wolves last week and followed that up with another draw by the same scoreline against relegation-threatened rivals Leeds United on Sunday.
Darren Fletcher is set to be United’s interim manager in the immediate aftermath of the decision, but the club will now be on the lookout for a new permanent boss, with several big names in the running for the job.
Glasner leads Maresca, Blanc and Xavi as favourites to be United’s next permanent boss
One of the UK’s leading bookmakers has drawn up the odds for United’s next manager, with Crystal Palace boss Glasner the current favourite, at 5/2.
Glasner looks set to depart Palace when his contract expires at the end of this campaign, after leading them to their maiden major trophy win in May, with an FA Cup triumph.
Former Chelsea boss Maresca is up next at 6/1, while ex-United defender Blanc is third favourite, according to the latest odds, at 8/1.

Others in the running include Barcelona icon Xavi, at 10/1, as well as Gareth Southgate, Marco Silva, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Julian Nagelsmann, who are all priced at 12/1.
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is an outsider to join their arch-rivals, with the bookies pricing him at 66/1 to become United’s next permanent boss.
Glasner could jump at United opportunity amid Palace frustrations
Glasner seems to be at the end of his tether with the Palace board, after he felt his squad was left very short in the summer window as they entered the Conference League.
He is currently set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, but could be convinced to depart the club even sooner if he is not backed with more new signings in the January window.

Palace still want to tie Glasner to a new contract right now, but the stellar job he has done in charge is sure to make him an attractive proposition to any top club without a manager.
Amorim was urged to learn from Glasner in terms of how he addresses the media, and now that United have moved to sack him, the Palace boss may well turn out to be his successor.
