Ruben Dias and Savinho react to upset Omar Marmoush’s Man City message
Man City forward Omar Marmoush had a message for fans after the Manchester derby over the weekend ended in a goalless draw, leaving his side frustrated.
Man City were held to a disappointing 0-0 stalemate against Man United on 6 April, but the match was not without controversy.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett suggested that Man United should have been awarded a penalty after Ruben Dias’ late challenge on Alejandro Garnacho appeared to be inside the box, rather than outside, as the referee initially ruled.
Meanwhile, Man City fans showed frustration towards Phil Foden’s performance, as he partnered Marmoush in a front two but failed to make an impact.
Despite the lack of a standout performance from the team, the Egyptian remained positive and shared a message with fans on social media, keeping spirits up after the underwhelming result.

Omar Marmoush shows promise despite early Pep Guardiola frustrations
The forward shared a message on Instagram after his first Manchester derby, saying: “Tough battle in my first Manchester Derby. Full focus forward.”
His post received support from teammates, with Savinho commenting “Vamos Craque” while Ruben Dias and Nico O’Rielly liked the post.
Marmoush has impressed for Man City since joining in January, most notably scoring the crucial goal against Bournemouth to secure their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals.
However, his time at the club hasn’t been without challenges. Pep Guardiola expressed frustration with Marmoush’s early performances, but the forward has proven to be an important addition to the squad. He has scored six goals and provided one assist in just 13 appearances.

Omar Marmoush to step up in Erling Haaland’s absence amid Champions League race
With Erling Haaland sidelined for an extended period, Marmoush is expected to lead the line for Man City as they push for a strong finish to the season, especially in the race for Champions League qualification.
City’s investment in the froward has been significant. The £59 million transfer fee from Eintracht Frankfurt, combined with the terms of his four-year deal, will see Man City invest around £100 million in Marmoush over the course of the contract.
He comes with impressive stats from the Bundesliga to justify his price tag, and now he faces the challenge of stepping up in Haaland’s absence for the coming games.
Guardiola’s side currently sit in fifth place, just one point behind Chelsea in fourth, and will face Crystal Palace in a crucial Premier League match on 12 April.
