Ruben Neves backed to make sensational Wolves return after ‘unbelievable’ twist
Ruben Neves has been backed to make a sensational and emotional return to Wolves
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson stated that it would take a “big offer” to prize him away from Al Hilal.
The 27-year-old joined the Saudi Pro League club in June 2023 for £47million, and since then he’s established himself as a key player in the squad.
Neves is under contract at Al Hilal until 2026, but he created speculation about his future when speaking to Wolves’ media team about potentially returning as he admitted, “it’s an open door for me.”
The Portugal international made 253 appearances for the Midlands giants during his time at the club, scoring 30 goals and providing 13 assists.
Ruben Neves could make a return to Wolves
“I was there at the weekend, I watched the Wolves-Southampton game, I covered that,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“Ruben Neves was actually at the game as well.
“He was a guest of the club, and he came onto the pitch at half time, did a very, very emotional interview.
“[He] speaks to the fans, he got an unbelievable reception, and rightly so for what he left at the club.
“[He’s] Very, very warmly thought of by everyone at Wolves, and you look at the record he’s got there as an individual record, the goals and assists, he was such a key player for them.

“He’s doing exactly what he’s done at Wolves in Saudi Arabia for the people that don’t watch the Saudi Pro League, he’s been an integral part of their team.
“It would take a big offer for Wolves to prize him away, there is an emotional draw there for him, I really do after seeing him back at Molineux.”
