Ruben Neves to Newcastle odds slashed amid latest Magpies January twist
Ruben Neves could be set to return to the Premier League this January, ending his stay at Al Hilal this January.
The Portuguese international was once Wolves captain, and was part of the side that reached the Europa League quarter finals in the Black Country.
However, since 2023, he has been making his trade in Saudi Arabia with great success.
Now, with his contract set to expire in the summer, the midfielder has been linked with a move back to the Premier League.
Man United have been heavily linked with Neves in recent weeks, with £18million believed to be enough to capture the 28-year-old.
Yet, Newcastle now appear to have entered the race as January closes in.
Newcastle just 8/1 to sign Ruben Neves
Newcastle were previously linked with Neves in 2023 as they eyed a potential loan move.
However, the deal never came off, and the midfielder remained in Saudi Arabia.
Now, it appears that the Magpies could be set to renew their interest after a recent influx of cash.
Last week, it was revealed that Newcastle’s owners had injected £45m into the club in the form of a new share, which could be used to increase the budget in January.
As a result, this could have helped reduce the odds of the Magpies signing Neves next month amid this reveal.

One bookmaker has Newcastle at just 8/1 to sign Neves, with Oddschecker confirming that these odds have been reduced.
Man United remained the favourite at 2/1, while any Italian club is also on the list at 4/1.
Can Neves be a success at Newcastle?
If Newcastle were to sign Neves, it would be almost a certainty that he would be a success.
Previously, the midfielder was easily Wolves’ best and most consistent player as they continuously pushed for Europe in their first seasons after promotion.
In Saudi Arabia, Neves has continued to shine, with Fotmob on 24 December showcasing how good his attacking and passing stats are.
| Ruben Neves’ stats for Al-Hilal this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.45 |
| xG | 0.32 |
| Shots | 1.67 |
| xA | 0.27 |
| Chances created | 1.56 |

Therefore, Eddie Howe will no doubt hope to have a player of his quality come to the Magpies this January.
