Russell Crowe sends Twitter message to Leeds ahead of promotion run-in

Movie star Russell Crowe has taken to Twitter to urge Leeds to secure the three wins they need to clinch a play-off spot.
The Yorkshire giants fell out of the top six for the first time in months on Monday when they fell to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Wolves.
Nevertheless, Garry Monk’s side remain in the mix for one of the play-off places and are seventh in the table and only behind sixth-placed Fulham, who beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Monday, on goal difference.
Oscar-winning actor and lifelong Leeds fan Crowe is aware Leeds’ hopes of ending their 13-year spell in the lower leagues are now in the balance.
“Come on Leeds,” said Australia-based Crowe on Wednesday on his personal Twitter account to his 2.6million followers. “Three from three. Let’s get this s*** done.”

The club are next in action on Saturday when they travel to relegation strugglers Burton ahead of a home match against Norwich and a final-day trip to Wigan.
Leeds will be almost certain to clinch a play-off spot if they win all three of those matches and increase their points tally from 73 to 82.
Crowe, best known for his portrayal of Maximus in Gladiator, is a lifelong Leeds fan and in 2015 explored the possibility of purchasing the club.
Crowe has spoken passionately about his “love” for Leeds and his support dates back to the 1970s, while he currently owns the Australian rugby league side South Sydney Rabbitohs.
In other Leeds United news, a stunning £14million bid is being prepared as deal edges closer with Premier League big hitters.
