Ruud van Nistelrooy breaks social media silence after Man United sack
Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken to social media for the first time since being sacked by Man United despite his impressive tenure as interim manager.
Brought in during the summer as part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff, Van Nistelrooy was dismissed not long after his fellow Dutchman.
The 48-year-old was let go by new manager Ruben Amorim after leading Man United to three wins and one draw in his four games at the helm.
Van Nistelrooy signed off with a comfortable 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester on Sunday (November 10) thanks to a brace from Bruno Fernandes and a wonder strike from Alejandro Garnacho.
Amorim will now lead the new era at Old Trafford, starting with a trip to newly promoted Ipswich Town after the international break.
Ruud van Nistelrooy responds to Man United star Casemiro
Casemiro was one player who greatly benefited from a change in regime, playing some of his best football in a United shirt under Van Nistelrooy.
The Brazilian led the tributes, taking to Instagram to thank his former temporary manager for steadying the ship after a chaotic start to the season, to which Van Nistelrooy has since responded.

Casemiro will remain in Manchester after missing out on Dorival Junior’s latest Brazil squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay.
After impressing under Van Nistelrooy, he will have to do it all over again for Amorim if he wants to remain a key player.
