Ryan Kent told not to quit Rangers for Leeds after source’s offer reveal – expert

Alan Hutton has urged Ryan Kent against quitting Rangers for Leeds United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Kent’s head will only turn for a “good option” and if Leeds get relegated they would not be.

The 26-year-old’s contract is up in the summer after he joined from Liverpool back in 2019 following a successful loan spell at Ibrox.

Although the Light Blues have offered the winger a new contract, Football Insider revealed (6 March) that Leeds have registered their interest ahead of the summer window.

The playmaker is currently free to discuss pre-contract deals with other clubs due to his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Championship leaders Burnley are also keen on Kent and will forge ahead with trying to sign him if they are successful in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds are currently 19th in the Premier League, just one point clear of bottom of the table Southampton.

When asked if Kent would still be interested in a move to Elland Road if they get relegated, Hutton told Football Insider:I would not if it was me.

I can only talk from my point of view and when I left Rangers I would not have wanted to leave playing in the Champions League or European competitions to go to a team in the Championship.

Rangers

That is no disrespect to that league, it is just sometimes the grass is not always greener.

I have got a feeling that he wants to stay. I think he can do good things at Rangers. Your head would only turn if it was a good option for you and I do not see the Championship as being that.
