Ryan Sessegnon responds to Harry Wilson declaration after Fulham win

Ryan Sessegnon has responded to a message from Fulham teammate Harry Wilson after Marco Silva’s men beat Brentford in the Premier League.

The Craven Cottage outfit successfully defeated their West London rivals 3-2 on away soil with two goals in two minutes from Tom Cairney and Wilson.

The Wales international now has three goals against Brentford this term, making him a popular figure among the Fulham fanbase, even though he has made just 11 Premier League starts this term.

Silva’s side sit 10th in the top flight with just one game remaining, but could finish eighth with a win over Manchester City on Sunday if other results also go their way.

Wilson has scored six goals in the Premier League this term, the most he has managed in a top-flight campaign since notching seven for Bournemouth back in 2019/20.

After Fulham beat Brentford, the winger posted on Instagram: “Love a Derby Day Winner. 1 to go! See you at home next week.”

Sessegnon commented: “Clutch!” while Antonee Robinson wrote: “Don’t go for them”, referring to Wilson’s impressive strike.

Fulham are concerned about Silva exit possibility

Silva has done an impressive job with the managerial reins at Craven Cottage and is set to guide the West London club to their second top-half finish in the Premier League since winning promotion from the Championship in 2022.

The former Everton boss has ensured that Fulham have been closer to European contention than the relegation battle since winning the second-tier title.

But his efforts for the Cottagers have not gone unnoticed, as Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Silva’s club are fearful of losing the manager’s services.

He has attracted suitors from the lucrative Saudi Pro League, while Tottenham could make their swoop for him if they choose to part company with Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has guided Spurs to a woeful Premier League campaign, as they sit just 17th after losing 2-0 to Aston Villa on Friday, thanks to goals from Ezri Konsa and Boubacar Kamara.

But Postecoglou could hand himself a reprieve if Tottenham can beat Manchester United in Wednesday’s Europa League final, which could boost Fulham’s chances of retaining Silva.
