Sam Byram mocks Leeds teammate in response to Joel Piroe

Leeds United full-back Sam Byram took to social media to poke some fun at teammate Joe Rodon in a response to Joel Piroe.

The 31-year-old replaced Junior Firpo in the 90th minute as Daniel Farke’s side secured a dramatic late 2-1 Championship win over Sunderland on Monday (February 17).

Wilson Isidor opened the scoring for the visitors after 32 minutes, holding off and then turning Ethan Ampadu to score past Illan Meslier from a tight angle.

Fellow substitute Pascal Struijk then got his first of two goals with a header from Joe Rothwell’s freekick before securing all three points in added time with a 95th-minute goal, making Elland Road erupt.

Leeds fans were left thrilled with Rothwell’s impact, urging the club to make his loan move a permanent one once the summer transfer window rolls around.

Leeds‘ win over Sunderland saw them return to the top of the Championship table, two points above second-placed Sheffield United with 72 points from their 33 games.

The winner didn’t come without controversy, however, with Farke getting a booking from the officials for stepping outside of his technical area.
