Sancho set for star Man United role after Rangnick revealed as 'big fan' - pundit

Ralf Rangnick “is a big fan” of Jadon Sancho and will give him a starring role in his Man United side.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Rangnick’s stance on the 21-year-old.

Sancho has been a bit-part player since moving to Old Trafford in July.

The confirmation of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager on Monday could change that.

As quoted by Statman Dave on Twitter (November 29th), Rangnick heaped praise on Sancho last year when he described him as “one of the best talents in Europe.”

When asked by Football Insider if Sancho stands to benefit from Rangnick’s arrival, Robinson said: “It’s clear that Rangnick is a big fan.

” Sancho is still so young.

“It is a huge task, moving to Man United. We have seen it phase far bigger players than Sancho.

“You think about the likes of Memphis Depay and Alexi Sanchez. The pressure is huge when you move to Manchester United. They are unlike any other club.

“Sancho is an amazing player. He is still one of Europe’s brightest talents.

“What he needs is confidence and regular football. Rangnick will probably give him that. Now is a good time for Sancho to push on and really excel.”

The winger scored his first Premier League goal for the Red Devils in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

He has made 10 appearances in the competition this season.
