Santiago Gimenez: West Ham plot new raid after talks held – sources

West Ham remain interested in Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez ahead of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons held a strong interest in the 23-year-old back in the January transfer window but failed to complete a move for a forward in the winter after extensive talks.

Gimenez is a long-term target for the Londoners – who are still looking to bring a new striker to the club in the off-season.

However, both Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in the Mexico international alongside Serie A giants AC Milan.

It is believed West Ham could therefore miss out on Gimenez if they fail to secure European football for the 2024-25 season.

West Ham to race Tottenham and Arsenal for Gimenez this summer

The Feyenoord star has notched 24 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this term – 39 of which have come as part of the starting lineup.

Gimenez is under contract until June 2027 after penning an extension last summer (2023).

He is just one of multiple forwards on the shortlist for West Ham, who have struggled for goals with Michail Antonio leading the line this term.

Football Insider revealed last week (15 April) that the Irons have made early enquiries about a deal for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis.

Sources have also told Football Insider that Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke is also a long-term target for the London side – who were keen on a potential move for the England international last summer (2023).

In other news, West Ham told £50million striker bid will be accepted.
