‘Santos and Ugochukwu could leave Chelsea after Amougou deal’ – Fans baffled
Chelsea fans have been left confused after news that the club agreed a deal for Saint-Etienne youngster Mathis Amougou.
The Blues have agreed a £10million deal for the France U18 international [The Standard], who has made 17 appearances for Saint-Etienne this season.
Amougou will join a stacked midfield at Chelsea, with Enzo Fernandez, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo all competing for just two starting roles.
The young French midfielder will also be in competition with returning loan players, Lesley Ugochukwu and Andrey Santos.
Ugochukwu struggled in the early part of his time at Southampton, but is blossoming under new boss, Ivan Juric.
Santos is another story, the Brazilian midfielder has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s best players, and Chelsea fans as excited to see him return next year.
Chelsea fans left in shock at Mathis Amougou deal on Deadline Day
Despite the obvious talent of Amougou, some Chelsea fans have begun to wonder how the club will use their young players.
With a midfield full of talented senior players, the club may be forced to sell off some of their young starlets due to simply not being able to play them.
Chelsea fans wont be excited at that prospect, as the club infamously let Mohamed Salah, and Kevin de Bruyne both leave for similar reasons.

The Blues have now let Carney Chukwuemeka go on loan to Borussia Dortmund, sparking concerns for fans over the future of the Chelsea project that has seen them sign an abundance of young players.
One fan said that the club was signing promising players “with absolutely no plan for them”, whilst another said they hope the club is not “cashing in on Santos”.
In other news, there has been some late drama in Axel Disasi’s move to Tottenham.
