Savage delivers verdict on Premier League title race, backs Tottenham to achieve this

By Matt Farr

Robbie Savage has backed Tottenham to finish the Premier League campaign without losing another game.

Tottenham are currently second in the league with seven matches remaining, and Savage reckons they have what it takes to stave off competition from their rivals in the race to finish second behind Chelsea.

The north London club currently have a five-point advantage over third-placed Liverpool, and are in fantastic form, having lost just three times throughout their entire league campaign.

In his column for the Mirror, Savage backed Tottenham to finish their season on a high, picking up four wins and three draws from their remaining games, which would see them end up with 83 points.

The former Premier League midfielder also backed Spurs to win their north London derby clash with Arsenal on April 30.

He added: “At last, after 22 years, Spurs will finish above Arsenal – by a distance – and shake off last year’s nightmare finish, when they managed to come third in a two-horse race for the title.”

Unlike Arsenal, Tottenham have been in particularly fine for in recent weeks, recording emphatic back-to-back victories over Watford and Swansea this month.

From their last three outings, Spurs have scored an incredible nine goals, conceding just once, a feat achieved even without their leading goalscorer Harry Kane.

In other Tottenham news, a rival PL chief has delivered his verdict on the ‘outstanding’ Mauricio Pochettino.
