Savage on Alderweireld: “The Tottenham centre-back is a superb reader of the game with passing range to match.”
The three Spurs stars were named in a side that boasted plenty of talent from this year’s edition of the Premier League, as Savage picked the players that caught his eye the most.
Throughout the calendar year of 2016, left-back Rose has been in magnificent form that saw the former Leeds academy product establish himself as England’s first-choice left-back.
In his 33 games during 2016, Mauricio Pochettino’s number three has kept a clean sheet 11 times as well as providing an attacking outlet with three goals and six assists.
Similarly, Alli has thrived since his £5million move from MK Dons at White Hart Lane. In 2016, the midfielder has also nailed down a regular spot in the England side.
Having a hand in 25 goals during his 45 games in 2016 has helped, with Alli scoring 12 of them himself and providing another 13 in assists.
Belgium international Alderweireld has become quickly renowned as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old played a pivotal part in Spurs’ title challenge last season and has continued that form this season with 13 clean sheets in 37 league and cup outings.
In other Tottenham news, Alli believes he has finally got something on this teammate.
