Savinho could push to join Tottenham in January, Pep Guardiola is to blame
Savinho has been further pushed down the pecking order at Man City with Pep Guardiola preferring to utilise other wide men.
Man City held on to Savinho in the summer transfer window despite Tottenham‘s intense interest.
Frustrated to come away empty-handed, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 21 September that Tottenham are monitoring Sevilla’s Ruben Vargas as an alternative to the Brazilian.
However, there has been little progress made for the Switzerland international as Spurs look to closely follow their summer target’s performances in the coming months.

World Cup to be major factor in Savinho joining Tottenham
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Lilywhites are keen on targeting the South American in the January transfer window.
Sources told Football Insider on 26 September that Tottenham will need a bid in excess of £65million to sign Savinho.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the winger’s discontent at the Etihad ahead of an enticing opportunity to join Spurs, I explained: “A lot will come down to what the player wants to do as well.
“If he’s not playing regularly between now and January, then maybe that might open the door for Tottenham to rekindle their interest in Savinho.

“He’ll be thinking he needs to be playing potentially ahead of a World Cup year with Brazil.
“City don’t really want to lose him. I’m sure they’ll want to keep him at least until the end of the season because City are going to need Savinho between now and then and challenge for honours on all fronts as well.
“I’m sure he will get plenty of game time but, I’m sure Spurs are continuing to monitor his situation at City for sure.”
Pep Guardiola reluctant to play increasingly frustrated Savinho
The Brazilian suffered a minor injury setback price to the commencement of the 2025-26 campaign but has still been unable to push into the starting XI.

Guardiola has preferred to select Oscar Bobb and Jeremy Doku to play on the flanks with Savinho only making his first league start against Burnley on 27 September.
As of 29 September, the former Girona starlet has accrued 192 minutes of football with his Norwegian competition amassing 391 minutes of game time.
This highlights that the Spanish manager remains unsure of his trust in the 21-year-old moving forward which could deter Carlo Ancelotti from selecting him for the Brazil World Cup squad.
Spurs are in desperate need of a left-winger and Savinho could fill the void by pushing through a January move.
