Rangers have been linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes this summer – and Gers fans are delighted by the prospect of the former Scotland international heading to Ibrox.

The prolific striker has fallen out of favour at Hillsborough and a move, as reported by the Yorkshire Post, north of the border could appeal to the 28-year-old as he looks to get his career back on track.

Rhodes has scored 95 times in 207 appearances at Championship level for a host of clubs and has shown time and again he knows the way to goal.

Gers fans think Rhodes would be a great addition to Steven Gerrard’s squad – with one saying he would score “barrel loads” of goals for the Light Blues.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Rhodes has had spells with Ipswich, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday but has never lived up to expectations – despite his regular goalscoring.

With Alfredo Morelos possibly leaving Rangers this summer and question marks over Jason Cummings’ future, Rhodes might just fit the bill for Gerrard’s side as they Liverpool icon prepares for his first season in charge of the Ibrox giants.

Rhodes’ current contract runs until 2020 although it seems likely that the Owls will want to move the striker on this summer.
