'Scores when he wants' - Tottenham fans react to Janssen tweet after international goal

By Danny Wright

Vincent Janssen has taken to Twitter after scoring for the Netherlands against Morocco on Wednesday – and Tottenham fans have reacted in the hopes he can do the same for their club next season.

The 22-year-old netted what was his fifth international goal in the friendly clash with the North African side as they ran out 2-1 winners.

Quincy Promes scored the opener for Holland before Janssen doubled their advantage after the break.

Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt was sent off two minutes later before Mbark Boussafa scored what turned out to be a consolation.

Janssen delivered a simple tweet on his personal Twitter account after the match which read: “A win in Morocco tonight.”

Janssen moved to Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar last summer and has really struggled to find the net with just two goals in the Premier League all year.

Now though, Spurs fans are expecting to see him score more times after an impressive display while on international duty.

Janssen earned his 11th cap on Wednesday in Morocco, all of which have come since March last year.

Since then his move to Tottenham hasn’t quite gone as planned with him making just seven league starts while in the shadow of the mercurial Harry Kane.

The Dutchman has six goals across all competitions for Spurs in 38 total appearances.
