Scott McTominay and Ollie Watkins react to Man United contract announcement
Scott McTominay and Ollie Watkins have both reacted after fresh confirmation was issued over the future of one Man United player.
A hugely disappointing 2024/25 campaign has left the Red Devils needing to make significant changes to their squad during the summer transfer window.
That could include moves in the goalkeeping department, where Monaco have been linked with a move for Andre Onana.
Meanwhile, there have also been suggestions that second choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir could also leave Man United ahead of next season.
However, it has now been officially announced that one shot-stopper is set to stay at Old Trafford for the coming campaign.

Tom Heaton signs new contract
Since returning to Man United from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021, Tom Heaton has made just three cup appearances for the Red Devils.
The goalkeeper had previously started his senior career with the club, but left in 2010 without making an appearance.
His contract at Old Trafford had been due to expire this summer, but it has now been announced that the 39-year-old has signed a new one-year deal with the club, keeping him there until this time next year.
After Man United announced confirmation of Heaton’s new contract on their Instagram page, former Red Devils midfielder McTominay was among those to react by liking the post.
Watkins, who was previously teammates with the goalkeeper at Aston Villa also did the same, as did Onana and Bayindir, along with Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk and former Brentford star Ivan Toney.
Man United move is a sensible one
Football Insider Verdict
It is often spoken about how important a third choice goalkeeper can be behind the scenes at a club with his influence and leadership.
In that way, keeping Heaton feels like the right move for Man United, given he has the experience to help the younger members of the squad through what is a tough period at Old Trafford.
Even so, it is unlikely that the 39-year-old will actually be playing many games for Ruben Amorim’s side in the coming campaign, given the stage of his career he is at.
As a result, the Red Devils still need to come to some decisions quickly about their other goalkeeping options.
Indeed, it is understood that Man United are pushing hard to sign Emi Martinez from Aston Villa this summer, suggesting they are moving closer to doing just that.
