Scott Minto has made a bold claim by stating that Sheffield Wednesday have more quality up front than Leeds.

The duo meet at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon in what will be a crucial Championship match as the race for promotion hots up.

Garry Monk has striker Chris Wood at his disposal as the New Zealand international has netted 19 league goals this season and has played a pivotal part in the club’s success.

By contrast, Wednesday will have January signing duo Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winall amongst their ranks, alongside versatile attacker Fernando Forestieri.

Italian Forestieri has netted ten goals this term, with former Barnsley man Winall has found the back of the net on 12 occasions, mainly for the Tykes.

Ahead of the match, Sky Sports pundit Minto backed Wednesday to clinch the all-important three points away from home.

“I don’t think there will be too many chances, though there will be a lot of passion with it being a derby,” Minto told Coral’s official Youtube account. “I do think it is going to be on the small details and just who has the better finishers.

“I think if you look at the strikers, for me Wednesday just have that little bit more quality than Leeds do. Anything can happen in a game like this. But, I feel Wednesday can go to Elland Road and nick an away win.”

As a team, the Whites have scored 45 goals during their 33 Championship encounters, while their Yorkshire rivals have scored three less.

The last time the duo met in August, Monk guided his side to an impressive 2-0 win and he will be hoping his team can replicate that performance.

Wednesday were on the losing side in midweek when Dean Smith’s Brentford picked up a 2-1 win.

For Monk’s side, at home they have only lost two matches all season, first against league leaders Newcastle and most recently against Cardiff.
