Former Spurs man Parker is one of Winks’ admirers as the current Championship player explained what he likes about his midfield counterpart.
“I always knew he had good quality and he played very well, I said that to him after the game, I thought he was fantastic,” Parker told the club’s official website.
“Technically he’s very good and he has a bit of drive about him, he can get away from opponents. He’s got that little shimmy and that can give him a yard of space. At this level, that’s what you need because the game happens so quickly.
“He certainly looks the part. He’s obviously in a very good team with an unbelievable manager who will give him an opportunity. He’s got every chance.
“He’s a good lad as well, gets his head down and works. I’ve no doubt he can go to the top.”
Winks has played 27 Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League games for his team this season.
During those matches, he has started ten encounters, finding the back of the net on one occasion during the 3-2 home win against West Ham in the PL.
The England under-21 international played 80 minutes as his side were beaten 1-0 at Gent during the first leg of their Europa League tie last Thursday.
Winks will be hoping to start the second leg this Thursday at White Hart Lane as the north London club aim to overturn the one goal deficit.
