Scott Parker faces ‘immediate’ Burnley sack
Scott Parker is becoming increasingly at risk of being sacked by Burnley and the club are set to make an immediate decision after their latest defeat.
Mansfield stunned the Clarets by pulling off an FA Cup giant-killing at Turf Moor, with the League One side beating their Premier League opponents 2-1.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Burnley‘s cup upset could prove to be the final nail in the coffin for Parker.
Despite the 3-2 comeback victory against Crystal Palace in their last league outing, which was expected to buy the boss some time, his position is now precarious.
Fans have been calling for Parker’s head, and the board are believed to be doubtful about whether he will be able to regain their faith, leading to growing concerns.

Burnley set to make Scott Parker sack decision
Brown told Football Insider on 9 February that Burnley could be forced to sack Parker given the fans’ reactions to their latest results at Turf Moor.
The Clarets had been keen to stick with him after their success in the Championship last season, but now fear his position has become untenable.
“Unfortunately for Scott Parker, it looks like his time might be up,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Their form in the Premier League has been terrible, despite that win against Palace which had probably bought him a bit more time.
“It doesn’t look like things are going to get better for them, they’re almost definitely going to get relegated, and this result was just another blow.
“Getting knocked out of the FA Cup is always a blow, getting knocked out at home against lower-league opposition is almost unforgivable.
“The fans aren’t happy with Parker, the board are having doubts as well, so I expect they’ll have to make an immediate decision after that.
“Whether he goes this week or in the near future, I don’t see any way he stays in that position now, which is a shame because of how well they did last year.”
Who could be in line to replace Parker at Burnley?
Pressure on Parker’s position has led to speculation about who Burnley could approach to replace him, with their Premier League survival looking unlikely.
Sean Dyche has been tipped to return to Burnley shortly following his departure from Nottingham Forest, who quickly replaced him with Vitor Pereira.
Dyche spent almost 10 years in charge of Burnley between 2012 and 2022, managing over 400 games and establishing himself as a club legend.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are both believed to be contenders for the position as both are out of work and keen to return to the Premier League.
Solksjaer missed out on the interim job at Man United last month, while Gerrard turned down a return to Rangers earlier this season, meaning both are still available.
