Scottish Premiership title race: Rangers can still have hands on trophy if Danny Rohl solves this issue
Rangers are in a three-horse race for the Scottish Premiership title, and will surely lift the trophy if Danny Rohl can ensure Mikey Moore is more consistent.
The Gers drew 1-1 with Motherwell on Wednesday, losing ground on Hearts, but realistically, they were fortunate to take a point given the Steelmen’s chances.
Danny Rohl’s side simply weren’t at the races at Fir Park, with their attacking threat from the past two matches dispersing.
One of the worst offenders was Moore, who simply could not make a lasting impact against Motherwell, which allowed Stephen Welsh to eventually equalise.
With Rangers’ strikers proving to be hit and miss, a consistent Moore could be the key to the title if Rohl can somehow pull it off.
Mikey Moore holds key to Rangers’ title hopes
Compared to Rangers’ other forwards, Moore has shown the most quality and potential out of their front line.
Against Kilmarnock, the Tottenham loanee was simply immense, as he picked up a goal and an assist in the 5-1 demolition.
It was one of the best performances from a Rangers attacker all season, and while Killie aren’t on the best run of form, it was still a wonderful display.

Yet, against Motherwell, Moore struggled to threaten consistently.
Fotmob on 12 February confirmed that the winger only had one shot, created just one chance and only completed 33 per cent of his dribbles.
Perhaps most alarming was the fact that he only attempted 10 passes, with just six reaching a Rangers player.
| Mikey Moore’s stats vs Motherwell | |
| Minutes | 86 |
| Shots | 1 |
| Chances created | 1 |
| Dribbles completed | 33% |
| Passing accuracy | 60% |
| Dispossessed | 2 |
In big games against the likes of Motherwell, Moore is perhaps one of the only players Rohl can look to make something magic happen up top.
Therefore, if the manager can somehow get the 18-year-old on a consistent run of form, it could certainly be the difference maker in the title race, especially with the split on the horizon.

What has Danny Rohl previously said about Moore?
In the past, Rohl has been full of praise for Moore and his contributions to the team.
Upon scoring his first Rangers goal in a 3-0 win over Dundee back in November, the manager was quick to compliment his movements.
He told AOL on 10 November: “Mikey again showed his quality on the ball.
“He is always available, a lot of good movements. I think this is great.”
“It’s a beautiful finish” 😮💨
