‘Season will end in disaster’, ‘We’ve had enough’ – Leeds fans are all saying same thing after Sam Bryam latest

Leeds United fans have urged the board to sign a new left-back in January after Sam Byram’s latest injury during their win against Birmingham City on Monday (1 January).

The defender had to be replaced by Junior Firpo after just 18 minutes at Elland Road and was seen limping off the field of play.

Byram has been blighted with setbacks across his career and only recently returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Whites’ squad for three games last month.

He emerged as the club’s first-choice at left-back this season and has featured in 20 of Leeds’ 26 Championship clashes, but this latest blow has Leeds fans concerned.

Daniel Farke’s side returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win against Wayne Rooney’s struggling Blues courtesy of goals from Patrick Bamford, Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville.

While supporters were thrilled with the result that keeps them seven points from the automatic promotion spots, fears that the 30-year-old’s time as first-choice may be over have reared their head once again.

The Whites are not blessed with left-back options and Farke can only rely on Byram and Firpo as Leo Hjelde has struggled to break into the first-team.

Fans are anxious to see recruitment in this area in the winter window and have taken to social media to demand his position be strengthened to help Leeds’ bid for promotion.
