Sebastian Tounekti: Celtic winger’s embarrassing stats in loss vs Dundee United, he did not win a single duel
Sebastian Tounekti was shambolic off the bench as Celtic were beaten 2-0 by Dundee United on Sunday, in a significant blow to their title hopes.
The pressure was on Martin O’Neill’s side to win and close the gap on Hearts to just two points, but they have instead allowed Rangers to pass them into second.
Will Ferry opened the scoring for the home side, before Emmanuel Agyei added a second after the break to mark the second time the Hoops have lost at Tannadice Park this season.
Rangers comfortably beat Aberdeen 4-1 on Saturday, with Hearts also grinding out an important 1-0 win over Dundee FC.
Celtic’s defeat has seen them drop to five points behind the Scottish Premiership leaders, with two games remaining before the league splits.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Celtic decided to keep Tounekti in January despite significant interest elsewhere.
But after Sunday’s performance, decision-makers at Parkhead may be mulling over that decision.
| Sebastian Tounekti | vs Dundee United |
| Minutes played | 33 |
| Accurate passes | 9/14 |
| Successful dribbles | 0/4 |
| Duels won | 0/4 |
| Accurate crosses | 0/2 |
Simply put, the 23-year-old was shocking off the bench against Dundee United on Sunday, and will not have done his chances of a role in the starting line-up going forward any good.
Tounekti lost all of his duels, attempted four dribbles but completed none of them, and completed neither of his two attempted crosses.
And there was little going the other way, either, with the Tunisia international recording just one recovery in 33 minutes.
Of his 14 passes, the winger misplaced five, and he failed to produce a single shot on goal.
Tounekti was far from alone in failing to perform for Celtic on Sunday, but his performance left much to be desired.
Celtic transfer trouble coming back to bite Martin O’Neill
O’Neill was desperate for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window, and Celtic did eventually supply him with some attackers.
Junior Adamu, Tomas Cvancara and Joel Mvuka all arrived with the hope that they would be able to supply the Hoops with goals.
Almost three months later, and all three players have combined for a grand total of four goals, with Mvuka yet to score his first.
O’Neill has been left out to dry by those above him, and Celtic’s season could be set to pay the price.
