Ajax have joined the hunt to sign West Ham United’s highly-rated midfielder Domingos Quina, according to a report.
The Mirror state that the 18-year-old starlet has been attracting interest from some of the top sides in Europe, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in the past.
An U20 Portuguese international, Quina has just one year left remaining on his current contract with the Hammers, who could be tempted into cashing in on the midfielder to fund new transfers.
The Hammers hierarchy are in drastic need of making changes to the squad with supporters unhappy with what they are seeing at the London Stadium.
Despite breaking into the first team last year when he made his debut in the Europa League, Quina has been kept in the U23s this time around where he continues to star, and has made four senior appearances in the League and FA Cup.
Football Insider verdict:
With so much interest in the player from further afield, it’s only natural that at 18, Quina will have had his head turned by all the attention his displays are getting. But there will also be a feeling of frustration as he continues to be held back in the U23s. This season the youngster has been limited to outings in the League Cup and FA Cup and has made a total of four appearances for the first-team in the entirety of this campaign so we think that he will seek his development elsewhere this summer.
