Second Wolves star opens talks to join Brazilian club after Jhon Arias fee is agreed

Wolves look set to lose multiple players in the next few days despite the winter window closing in England on Monday.

On Thursday, it was reported that Emmanuel Agadou was set to leave Molineux for Besiktas after a fee was agreed.

Following this, Jhon Arias is due to fly out for a medical at Palmeiras, with the Brazilian club and Wolves agreeing a £21.7million deal.

However, sources say Palmeiras are now looking to sign yet another player from the Old Gold side as they begin negotiations to sign Pedro Lima.

Palmeiras in talks to sign Pedro Lima as well as Jhon Arias

It is believed that Palmeiras are working to sign Lima as well as Arias.

Negotiations are currently underway with Palmeiras as they look to make a double swoop from Wolves.

The 19-year-old right-back has been loosely played by Wolves since he joined the club in 2024.

Lima was sent out on loan to Porto at the start of the 2025-26 campaign in the hope of furthering his development. However, he was recalled in the winter window having made zero first-team appearances for the Portuguese giants.

While Lima has since made three appearances since returning to Wolves, he could now once again be on his way out of the club.

Pedro Lima departure may pave the way for Ki-Jana Hoever comeback

While it is unclear if Palmeiras want Lima on loan or on a permanent deal, Wolves are certainly overstocked at right-back.

Currently, Matt Doherty, Jackson Tchatchoua, Lima can play in this position, while Rodrigo Gomes can also cover.

However, with many of these players placed elsewhere on the pitch, a Lima departure could allow Ki-Jana Hoever to rejoin the fold next season.

The right-back played a role at Wolves at the start of the 2025-26 campaign, but a streak of poor performances, as well as Lima’s return, allowed Hoever to be shipped out on loan to Sheffield United.

In recent years, Hoever has often impressed in the Championship, with the full-back having a year-and-a-half loan spell at Stoke City.

Therefore, given his experience, Edwards may look to the 24-year-old to play a role in the 2026-27 campaign, with relegation now pretty much inevitable at Molineux.
