‘Sekou Kone set for summer move at Man United’
Man United supporters are unlikely to see Sekou Kone break into Ruben Amorim’s first team next season as a potential summer transfer emerges.
Several youngsters have trained with the senior squad during the 2024/25 campaign, with Harry Amass, Ayden Heaven, Toby Collyer, and Chido Obi-Martin all given significant game time.
It has been an incredibly difficult season for all involved at Old Trafford, with United currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table, but it has been an important lesson for the less-experienced players.
The Old Trafford faithful will be excited to see more academy products make a breakthrough, though fans may have to wait until they see Kone on the biggest stage following the latest update.

Sekou Kone set for Man United loan amid Lausanne links
According to the Daily Mail (20 May), Kone is set to leave Old Trafford on loan ahead of next season, with Swiss side Lausanne, owned by Ineos, leading the race for his signature.
The 19-year-old has been on the cusp of making his first-team debut after impressing for the Under-21s in two separate positions – number six and number eight – with clubs from France and Belgium also keen.
However, it is understood that the Red Devils are keen to strengthen their relationship with Lausanne due to their owners, attempting to create a similar model to what Chelsea have done with BlueCo-owned Strasbourg.
Internally, it has been agreed that Kone will benefit from being loaned out somewhere he can refine his game in a senior set-up, and could also be joined by Enzo Kana-Biyik, who arrived from Le Havre.

Ruben Amorim to trust Man United youngsters after summer rebuild
Football Insider verdict
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United could have been forced to sell Amass amid interest from Aston Villa, but Amorim will be thanking his lucky stars that the youngster stayed.
The latest generation of players have made a huge splash at Old Trafford, being one of the only positives in such a poor campaign for the Red Devils, though they could still lift the Europa League title.

While the financial situation is quite stark heading into the summer transfer window, if Amorim can seal multiple exits for the club, there should be available funds to fit the squad to his playing style.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United could be willing to lower Rasmus Hojlund’s asking price, with Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Joshua Zirkzee also linked with exits.
Despite this, Kone looks set to join Lausanne through the Ineos links, and given that the 19-year-old has not yet been given his debut, it makes sense to help his development on loan before returning to England.
