Rangers manager Graeme Murty made the bold decision to play Portuguese winger Dalcio at left-back in the first-half of the 1-0 win over Atletico Mineiro – and fans on Twitter tore into the loanee for his performance against the Brazilians.
The on-loan Benfica youngster made a rare appearance for the Gers in an unfamiliar position and had a night to forget as he produced a nightmare performance.
The Brazilian side quickly realised the Gers’ weakness in that area and began bombarding Dalcio with long balls only for the Rangers player to continually get caught underneath them.
Rangers fans were less than impressed with his performance with one saying it would give him “nightmares”.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
Night, away to have nightmares about Dalcio playing left back

Goss looks decent, Atakayi has potential, the penny seems to have dropped with Windass and great effort from Halliday.
A few players should be moved on, MOH won't do and Dalcio is a waste, get him back to Lisbon.

Halliday with a great defensive header kept us in the lead.
Dalcio was really poor, we should send him back to Benfica.

The 21-year-old hasn’t appeared for the Gers since 4-1 wi over Hamilton in September and will have done his chances little good with his abject performance at left-back.
While the on loan winger was likely played there simply to give him some game-time, his inability to even do simple things means it probably makes more sense for Rangers to try an end his loan deal early.
The Gers face Corinthians on Saturday night and fans will be hoping manager Graeme Murty just opts to give Declan John the full 90 minutes.
In other Rangers transfer news, the club are working on beating Celtic to the signing of a 22-year-old goal machine ripping up the league.
