Senior duo axed in Monk 4-2-3-1: Leeds best possible XI to face Sheffield Wednesday
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Leeds should make two changes to the team that takes on promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Garry Monk’s side are level on points with their Yorkshire rivals in the Championship table as they face their neighbours in front of their own fans.
Monk should axe senior duo Eunan O’Kane and Stuart Dallas for the weekend encounter with Liam Bridcutt and January signing Mo Barrow coming into the starting XI.
Striker Chris Wood should continue up top, with the ever reliable Pablo Hernandez providing the creativity in behind the New Zealand international.
Furthermore, Monk must add pace to his flanks and start with Barrow and Hadi Sacko out wide as they would stretch the energetic Wednesday team.

This would enable captain Briductt to marshall his troops in the middle of the park, with the more attacking Ronaldo Vieira alongside him.
At the back, Monk should stick with the same defensive line that is continuing to improve in recent weeks despite conceding a poor goal during their 1-1 draw against Ipswich last time out.
The centre-back pairing of Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley will be crucial in stopping the attacking and aerial threat from the likes of Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winall.
Between the sticks, the underrated and experienced Rob Green should keep the gloves because he provides both calmness and leadership to that backline.
