Senior player an embarrassment: Three things we learned from Rangers win v Aberdeen
By Amir Mir
Football Insider analyses the three talking points from Rangers’ 3-0 win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Garner an embarrassment
The 28-year-old has scored eight goals in all competitions this season but has gone one better by accumulating ten yellow cards. During the first-half against Aberdeen, Garner was involved in a little altercation with Ryan Jack after the Dons player had fouled him. Both came face to face and exchanged words but the club’s senior player embarrassed himself by falling to the ground like he had been shot. Both were booked as a result.
Too much to ask for
Despite the win against the second-placed side, catching the Dons in the table will be too much to ask for from Pedro Caixinha’s men. They are now nine points behind their rivals as they are set to meet once again this season at Ibrox. However, the Gers will need to pick up maximum points from now until the end of the season in order produce a comeback and hope Aberdeen slip up.

The experienced player may not be at his peak now but he can still produce the goods for Rangers, just like he did in this important encounter. Kenny Miller’s wonder goal late in the second half started the spree of goals in the final ten minutes. It may be an outside chance but now Caixinha’s side have the opportunity to catch the Dons in the table, thanks to Miller’s brace.
