Devastating attacker to cause havoc: Three things to expect from Leeds clash with Preston

COMMENT by Amir Mir

Football Insider predicts the three things to expect from Leeds’ Championship clash against Preston on Saturday afternoon.

The home side to concede

Simon Grayson’s side will look to attack their opponents from the off at the weekend which could result in Leeds conceding. Preston go into the game having scored five goals in midweek and 12 in their last five matches. This will give them the confidence to play free-flowing attacking football which will put the home side to the test. The Whites could come away from the match with the three points, but they are likely to concede against this free-scoring team.

Nervous performance by Monk’s team

After back-to-back defeats in recent days, Leeds will be looking over their shoulders at the promotion-chasing pack which includes their weekend opponents. This is now crunch time for teams that are fighting for something and it is sure to bring out the nerves from Monk’s side, who are aiming to finish in the top six. Regardless of the result, expect a nervous display from the home team, who will take three points at any cost.

McGeady to cause havoc

The versatile Preston attacker has been in devastating form of late, scoring three goals in his last three matches, which has helped his side clinch five points. His trickery and directness will be too much for right-back Luke Ayling, who will be in for a nightmare afternoon. The senior player is on-loan from Everton and Monk will be fully aware that he can change the game at any moment in time. As a result, it won’t be a surprise to see Ayling struggle against the former Premier League player.

In other Leeds news, this senior quartet would be axed in this best possible XI to face Preston.
