Senior trio axed in Bruce 4-3-1-2: Aston Villa best possible XI to face Blackburn
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Aston Villa take on Blackburn Rovers in their final away match of the Championship season on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Bruce’s side won the bragging rights last weekend when they beat bitter rivals Birmingham City 1-0 in front of their own supporters.
With nothing to play for, Bruce should start experimenting with his team and also building momentum for the next campaign.
From the previous match, he should axe the senior trio of Leandro Bacuna, Albert Adomah and Alan Hutton.
As a result, Conor Hourihane, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and James Bree should come into the starting fold.

Striker Scott Hogan needs to build confidence and playing two up top will help the January signing.
The club’s key man Jonathan Kodjia is back from suspension but Villa are aware of what he can bring to the table.
Therefore, teenager Hepburn-Murphy should be given a start with the inconsistent Jack Grealish playing in behind the duo.
Bruce should play a reliable midfield of Henri Lansbury and Hourihane with Mile Jedinak sitting in front of the defence.
Added to that, he should stick with the same centre-back pairing of Nathan Baker and James Chester that were excellent against the Blues.
Villa should also give youngster Bree a chance at right-back, so he can show what he can bring to the table.
In other Aston Villa news, Rafa Benitez has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at the club following the club’s promotion.
