Sergio Reguilon given Turkish ultimatum by Tottenham – report

Tottenham want to send Sergio Reguilon to a Turkish club, or he will face months on the sidelines if he remains at the Premier League club.

According to The Sunday People (page 53, 8 Sept), the 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by Spurs boss Ange Postecoglu.

The Premier League giants had been keen on offloading the left-back throughout the summer but a move never materialised.

Turkey is now Reguilon’s only option for a move, with their transfer window remaining open until Friday, September 13.

A move might be tricky, however, with Chelsea also keen on dumping ‘bomb squad’ member and ex-vice captain Ben Chilwill as soon as possible.

Tottenham make Sergio Reguilon transfer decision

Reguilon has been shipped out on loan three times since making the move to Spurs from Real Madrid back in 2020.

He spent the back end of last season at fellow London club Brentford, making 16 Premier League appearances for the club.

The defender was omitted from the club’s 25-man Europa League squad as the club prepare to face the likes of European giants Roma and Galatasaray.

It’s been an interesting end to the transfer window for Spurs as the club secured a first-option clause for Johnny Cardoso as part of the sale of Giovani Lo Celso.

Football Insider revealed (September 6) that Tottenham Hotspur’s deal to sign Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis is being seen as a game-changer.

In other news, Tottenham offered Yusuf Yazici.
