Even the arrival of joint-bottom placed side Sunderland to Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday couldn’t halt the Whites miserable form.
Paul Heckingbottom’s side have been going through the motions for most of the season and despite early hopes of a promotion challenge, they have become middle-table fodder at best.
Three points ought to have been expected against the Black Cats but the North East club played with a grit, determination, and flair that Leeds themselves could have done with displaying.
As a result, Chris Coleman’s side took the lead with a Paddy McNair half-volley just after the break.
But Pablo Hernandez spared Leeds blushes – not for the first time this season – with a sublime curled effort as the game went into its final stages – his ninth of the campaign.
It was a game which saw Leeds’ U23 product Bailey Peacock-Farrell show exactly why he had been handed his promotion to the first-team, with another man-of-the-match display.
After the result, the 21-year-old Tweeted, “Happy to get another man of the match yesterday. We deserved more from the game

But Leeds fans questioned the Darlington-born stopper’s statement, with many of them feeling that their team did not deserve to come away with more than the one point they gained from the fixture.
This is what the Leeds faithful had to say in response to their keeper’s Tweet:
Well done, but serious questions have to be asked on why our keeper is man of the match against the bottom of the league ffs.

Well done but unfortunately when the goalkeeper gets MOTM and we draw against one of the poorest teams in the league then we didn’t deserve more

If everyone played like you we would get more out of these games, too many passengers.

Atleast one position we dont have to worry about. Well done keep up the hard work

Had it not been for you MOTM performance we wouldn’t have been in the game

In other Leeds United news, with Leeds big name out for rest of the season in new blow, rarely-seen ace must be given run.
