Sessegnon, Vinicius react to Fulham’s new Cairney message amid contract uncertainty
Ryan Sessegnon and Carlos Vinicius were among those to react to a new message by Fulham about Tom Cairney as the midfielder’s future remains up in the air.
The 34-year-old has been a key figure at Craven Cottage wearing the captain’s armband and helping the club win promotion to the Premier League on three separate occasions.
However, his current deal with Marco Silva‘s side comes to an end this summer, and it remains to be seen if he will sign a new one.
Fulham have offered Cairney a new contract, amid strong interest in the attacking midfielder from newly promoted Championship side Wrexham.

Tom Cairney milestone marked
On Thursday (26 June), Fulham were able to mark the ten-year anniversary of the day they completed the signing of Cairney from Blackburn Rovers.
In his time with the club, the former Scotland international has made over 350 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers, scoring 47 goals in that time.
Commemorating that landmark, a post on the London outfit’s official Instagram account read: “Ten years today, TC signed for Fulham.”
Vinicius has already left Fulham this summer after his own contract came to an end, but still recognised the impact of Cairney at the club by liking this post.
Meanwhile, other current members of Silva’s squad such as Sessegnon and Sasa Lukic would also do the same, hinting at their desire to see the midfielder extend his stay at Craven Cottage.
Fulham will want contract clarification
Football Insider Verdict
Given the need to step up preparations for next season, those at Craven Cottage will be wanting to know whether the likes of Cairney are staying for the coming campaign.
It is not just the midfielder either, with Everton looking to snare Kenny Tete as his Fulham contract expires at the end of this month.
Knowing whether or not those individuals are staying sooner rather than later is important, since it then gives them more time to work out what they need in the transfer market.
If these issues are only resolved later on, the club could be left scrambling at the end of the window, leaving them with a squad that is not fully ready for the new season.
That would be frustrating given the potential they have shown under Silva, and Football Insider understands Fulham are also keen on re-signing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool.
Such a deal would be a major boost if it can be backed upped with other business, so the club need to start getting agreements in place sooner rather than later.
