Shaw and fellow Man United big name could be frozen out all season after Ferdinand claim – pundit
Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could face a “waiting game” in order to get back into the Man United side under Ralf Rangnick, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the new Red Devils boss is exploring his options after taking the reins at Old Trafford.
Speaking on his FIVE podcast (6 December), Man United icon Rio Ferdinand insisted Shaw, 26, and Wan-Bissaka, 24, have a “hell of a job” ahead in order to gazump Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot.

Telles and Dalot have started both Premier League fixtures since Rangnick took charge earlier this month.
Whelan insisted the full-back berths are “theirs to lose”, claiming they have “more quality in the final third”.
“Telles has done enough to keep his place. Shaw hasn’t been good enough,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Wan-Bissaka is another one who has come in for criticism, the fans don’t really like his style. As a defender, he’s fantastic. But going forward it’s a different story, he’s not a natural wing-back.
“Telles and Dalot can do both. They’ve got that attacking presence, can deliver a bit more quality in that final third. Those full-back spots are their positions to lose, right now.
“With every new manager comes new favourite players and setups, and that’s what I think Rangnick is exploring right now.
“They’re winning football matches. Shaw and Wan-Bissaka can hardly go banging down the door of the manager asking why they’re not playing – it could well be a waiting game for them.”

Shaw cost a reported £27m when signed for Man United as an 18-year-old in 2014.
The Red Devils signed Wan-Bissaka for a reported £50m in 2019.
