Sheffield United fans have already told Patrick Bamford how to win them over after confirmed news
Chris Wilder has turned to free agent striker Patrick Bamford in a bid to rescue Sheffield United’s season.
The Blades are currently three points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship table after collecting three wins from 15 matches.
Wilder had been sacked by Sheffield United during the summer, although he returned to Bramall Lane in September after Ruben Selles’ nightmare five matches in charge.
United have since won three of their last 10 matches under the 57-year-old, with goals being a real problem for the Yorkshire side, scoring just 11 so far.
That is why Sheffield United opened talks to sign Bamford on a free transfer, since announcing his arrival in South Yorkshire.

Sheffield United fans react to Patrick Bamford signing
When Leeds United beat the Blades to automatic promotion last term, videos surfaced online of Bamford leading some crude chants towards Wilder outside of Elland Road.
But the pair instantly cleared the air with each other, and now, Wilder will be hoping the 32-year-old can offer some magic in attack.
Although Bamford’s well-documented injury troubles could be a problem for Sheffield United, supporters will forgive his previous unprofessionalism if he scores against arch rivals Sheffield Wednesday after the international break.

Reacting to his arrival via X, one fan said: “Welcome PB. Debut goal next week, please,” while another exclaimed: “Scores winner against pigs! Imagine!”
“If he scores the winner against Wednesday I’ll get his name tattooed on me,” someone even bravely posted.
Go score the winner against them lot and you'll be loved by us forever 👍 https://t.co/JV7lzBgtOW

What's that…we've signed a 32 year old Leeds United striker just before the derby game at Hillsborough 🤔 https://t.co/OJVO4XOTA6 pic.twitter.com/T6WG51IaxV

Others are less confident about the signing of Bamford, who failed to find the net for Leeds in 17 Championship matches last term, albeit most of those appearances came from the bench.
“Be shocked if he’s even on bench next week,” a fan stated and another commented: “Hope he proves me wrong but never thought he was any good anywhere.”

Bamford’s last chance to rescue career
Bamford has only signed a short-term contract until January with the Blades, giving him just shy of two months to impress.
A forward addition a third of the way through the campaign is welcomed ahead of a hectic Christmas schedule, with the 32-year-old needing to recapture his best form.
Once the scorer of 17 Premier League goals in 2020/21, the Englishman is a clinical finisher on his day, and Wilder will want a similar impact at Bramall Lane.
Their Steel City Derby clash against Wednesday on November 23 is the perfect chance to endear himself to his new supporters by scoring.
