Sheffield United fans think Leicester star is joining them soon after latest post: ‘See you in January’
Sheffield United have seen their fortunes undergo a drastic change as we head into the final weeks of 2025.
The Blades had been languishing inside the relegation zone in the Championship until the last few games, when they have strung together an impressive run of three consecutive wins.
Chris Wilder led Sheffield United to a memorable 3-0 derby day victory over Sheffield Wednesday on 23 November, and has since followed that up with convincing wins over Portsmouth and Leicester City.
The South Yorkshire outfit defeated Leicester 3-2 at the King Power Stadium in the early kick-off on Saturday, and the Bramall Lane faithful now think they are about to raid the East Midlands outfit again for their first signing of the winter window.

Sheffield United fans expect Hamza Choudhury return
Marti Cifuentes is under huge pressure at Leicester after their defeat to Sheffield United at the weekend, and Hamza Choudhury has since added to their fans’ anger with his actions on social media.
The Foxes’ vice captain took to Instagram to like a post by Blades striker Tom Cannon, which showed him celebrating the opening goal against his former club.
Choudhury has since been forced to apologise for liking the post, as he wrote on his X account that it was “an accident” and the like has since been removed.
The right-back spent time on loan at Bramall Lane last season, and his latest comments on X have got Sheffield United fans speculating that a return is on the cards in January.
Several supporters suggested that Choudhury will soon be “coming home” when the January window opens, given that he has fallen out of favour at Leicester in recent years.
- @Joelbirmz12: “See you back at United in January Hamza.”
- @bodfield10: “Would be welcomed back with open arms and actually appreciated here.”
- @Maximoose22_: “Don’t be daft Hamza, see you this time next month lad.”
What has Chris Wilder said about Hamza Choudhury?
Choudhury played a key role for Sheffield United during his loan spell in the second half of last season, and it culminated in him playing the full 90 minutes in their play-off final defeat to Sunderland.
With Wilder now back at Bramall Lane for yet another stint in charge, it would be no surprise at all to see him launch another move for the 28-year-old in January, given the praise that he has recently heaped on him.
The Bangladesh international didn’t get on the pitch for Leicester against the Blades at the weekend, but Wilder was keen to share his admiration for the versatile star before the game.
The 58-year-old told The Yorkshire Post that he felt Choudhury was “outstanding” for his team in 2024-25, and became a “standout player” towards the end of the season.
He also stated that he has “always been a fan” of the Leicester man, and with that in mind, he will surely try to re-establish that relationship this winter.
