Kenny backs Liverpool 'emergency signing' Davies to reignite career at Sheffield United
Sheffield United would be the perfect destination for Liverpool outcast Ben Davies to revive his career.
That is according to Blades legend Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 25-year-old centre-back.
The Sun reported on 18th July that United are interested in securing a loan deal for the man who signed for Liverpool in a £1.6million deal last January.
He is under contract at Anfield until 2025 but is yet to make a single appearance for the club.
The former Preston defender will be knocked further down the pecking order following the signing of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
And Kenny insists that Davies would be better off seeking game time on loan at Bramall Lane ahead of 2021-22.

“I don’t see why he can’t get back on track at Sheffield United,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“He’s gone there [Liverpool] basically as cover, an emergency signing. They were really struggling in that department.
“With Van Dijk going to be back next season as well as a few others, he is just going to drop down the pecking order even more.
“So why not go to Sheffield United? They’ve got big aspirations and have got a good new manager. Get some game time, get playing.
“He was used to playing at Preston week in, week out. So it would be nice for him to go there and get some games.“
Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are soon set to return from injury at Liverpool.
Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips are also ahead of Davies in the centre-back hierarchy on Merseyside.
