Paddy Kenny shares 'massive' Brewster prediction after Sheffield United development
Rhian Brewster can score 20-plus goals for Sheffield United this season if he maintains his confidence.
So says ex-Blades legend Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Brewster netted in the 1-0 win over Carlisle on Tuesday.
His goal in the League Cup clash was his first in 32 games for United since signing from Liverpool in a club-record £23.5million deal last summer.
The 21-year-old also came off the bench alongside fellow strikers Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp in last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City.
Kenny claims that the youngster will have taken confidence from his goal in midweek and can now go on to have a prolific campaign in 2021-22.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “They need one of the strikers to start scoring regularly if they are going to go up this season.

“Jokanovic brought three strikers off the bench on Saturday, but if they aren’t creating chances for them then they aren’t gonna score goals.
“It was disappointing but Brewster scored on Tuesday in the cup so hopefully that can be a massive boost for him and it might get him going.
“Hopefully it can breathe a bit of confidence into him. Any players need confidence, and strikers need goals.
“He can start banging them in now and go and get the 20 goals this season that they need.”
David McGoldrick was United’s top scorer last season with eight goals.
The Blades netted just 20 times in 2020-21 as they finished bottom of the table.
