Sheffield United midfielder Tom Davies has been slaughtered for his “tragic” performance against Arsenal on Monday night (4 March).

Chris Wilder’s struggling Blades tasted their third consecutive league defeat after a 6-0 mauling by Mikel Arteta’s high-flying Gunners thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Ben White and Jayden Bogle’s own goal.

Relegation looks inevitable for Sheffield United amid a weak squad and issues scoring goals, but fans have singled out Davies for his contribution to yet another thrashing at Bramall Lane.

He was hauled off as one of three halftime changes when the Blades were 5-0 down having managed just 13 touches, five passes, 63 per cent pass accuracy and losing possession three times.
