Sheffield United transfer news: Clubs ready Max Lowe moves – sources

Sheffield United defender Max Lowe is wanted by multiple Championship clubs this summer as they ready moves, sources have told Football Insider

Lowe is out of contract at Bramall Lane in June this year and no decision has yet been made on whether he will be handed a new deal.

The 27-year-old has featured nine times in the Premier League this season after his side have been relegated to the Championship.

The left-back recovered from what looked to be a season-ending injury to play in the Blades’ 1-0 defeat against Everton on 11 May.

Max Lowe could leave Sheffield United this summer

Lowe has been plagued by injuries since joining Sheffield United from Derby County back in 2020.

During that four-year period, the defender has only made 52 appearances for the Blades and spent time on loan with Nottingham Forest in the 2021/22 season.

The former England youth international enjoyed his best season at Bramall Lane last year, where he featured 32 times on his way to helping the South Yorkshire club earn promotion back to the top flight.

But his injury problems resurfaced again this campaign after suffering ankle ligament damage in February.

The left-back came off the bench for the final 35 minutes against Everton as he looks to prove his fitness before the season comes to an end.

The Blades are now weighing up whether to offer him a new deal as Chris Wilder aims to build a squad capable of securing an instant return to the Premier League.

The defender has previously made 87 appearances in the Championship, prompting several second-tier clubs to keep an eye on his situation.
