Sheffield Wednesday have turned their attention to making their first summer signing after their transfer embargo was lifted.

Ben Mee update emerges as Sheffield Wednesday close in on Liam Cooper
Chansiri’s consistent failure to pay players on time has seen several departures at Sheffield Wednesday, leaving Henrik Pedersen with a thin squad.
Meanwhile, according to the Sheffield Star on 13 August, the Owls are closing in on signing former Leeds United defender Liam Cooper.
Amid the Hillsborough club’s advances for Cooper, one Wednesday fan asked Sheffield Star journalist Joe Crann via X on13 August: “Is Ben Mee talk also true?”
Crann replied: “Not heard anything on Mee personally, but couldn’t rule it out.”

Meanwhile, in their time of need, the Hillsborough outfit need more experience in their ranks, which both Cooper and Mee can bring to the table.
Cooper made over 280 appearances for Leeds, featuring for the West Yorkshire side in both the Championship and the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Mee has starred in the top flight for both Burnley and Brentford, and has earned bags of second-tier experience, thanks to his time with both the Clarets and Leicester.
The Owls squad is currently lacking in experience, despite the continued presence of stalwarts Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer, so the 35-year-old could play a key role in helping Pedersen’s men if he moves to South Yorkshire.
